- Choose your journal instrument (such as pen and paper/notebook or laptop, etc). It's best not to wait for to purchase something fancy or special here, using what you already have (or can easily purchase) will work just fine. Getting started as soon as possible will help you build on the moment that brought you here.
- Choose and set up your journaling space (such as desk, chair, table, etc). You may want to put items in this space that help you to feel more comfortable and relaxed, such as a candle, cozy blanket, or favorite picture. If you live with other people, it's important to take into account any needs you may have for privacy and quiet.
- Choose and block off the times you plan to journal this next week, adding them to your calendar if that's a tool you use to manage your time and commitments. About 10-15 minutes per day should be enough for you to read and respond to each journal message.
- Download and print off your Journal Journey Progress Tracker, found below. Keep it in your journaling space along with a pen or marker you can use to mark off your progress each day.
- Optional: You may want to create a folder in your email inbox to keep the messages you receive for this journal journey in one special place for easy reference.
